Salmon
In order to deliver high quality salmon, control is essential at all stages of production. We are privileged to have the entire production cycle in-house, from egg reception at our subsidiary until the fish are slaughtered. Our in-house veterinarians follow the salmon throughout the entire process, from egg-laying to slaughter, to ensure optimal welfare, health and growth.
The salmon grow up in Lofoten, where the sea is cold, fresh and oxygen-rich, providing the best living conditions for farmed salmon. The feed is carefully composed of key nutrients to safeguard the salmon’s health and ensure steady growth. Our specialized feed operators continuously monitor the salmon until it is ready for export.
Norway is a world leader in salmon production and in 2024 exported seafood worth NOK 175.4 billion, of which salmon alone accounted for NOK 122.9 billion.
Norwegian salmon is exported to more than 150 countries, with the EU, USA and Asian markets as the largest importers. These exports are crucial to the Norwegian economy and employ thousands of people along the coast. By having full control over the entire production chain and focusing on quality at all stages, we help to maintain Norway’s position as a leading player in the global salmon industry.
Isqueen AS got GLOBAL G.A.P. certified in 2024. Global Gap is an international certification standard that ensures safe and sustainable food production through a focus on food safety, environmental protection, animal welfare and good working conditions throughout the production chain.
